Things to Do

As well as all of the animals you have to say hello to, we have plenty of other activities to keep you busy all day at Auchingarrich. From indoor play barns to mini golf you will never want to leave! Below are some of the things you can look forward to doing at Auchingarrich, come rain or shine!

chick on hand

Hatching and handling

Visit our Hatchery and handle the chicks, rabbits, guinea pigs and tortoises. If you are lucky and you keep an eye on our glass topped incubator then you may just see a chick peck its way out of the shell to start its life. See the lambs being fed at Easter and look out for any new arrivals throughout the year around the park! Our Handling Sessions do not run over the winter months in the Hatchery.

Indoor play barn

Visit our Activity Play Barn suitable for ages 5 to 11. This is open all year round and is a great place for mums and dads to enjoy their coffee on the benches whilst the little ones have a ball!

Feeding Times

Right now our feeding times are

Meerkats – 12:30pm
Wildcats – 1:00pm
Otters – 1:30pm

Mini Golf

Our mini golf is more difficult than it looks and is now located inside our Activity Play Barn so it’s available in all weathers.

Clover our milking cow is outside the Hatchery all the way from the field! If you have ever wanted to try your hand at milking then Clover would be happy to assist.

Tractors circuit

Come and pedal our tractors around our farm yard circuit!

Indoor soft play barn

Our Soft Play barn is suitable for 0 to 5 year olds and is a great place to let the wee ones climb, run and play. This Barn closes in the winter November to February when some of the equipment is moved to our Activity Play Barn to ensure no one misses out!

Pony Rides

Pony Rides are on weekends only between 2pm-3pm for children ages 3-12 depending on weight and height. Tickets are £3.50 and are sold on a first come first basis from the entrance/shop. NO ADVANCED BOOKINGS. Tickets are limited in numbers so please book on arrival to avoid disappointment. Pony Rides are WEATHER PERMITTING! Find out more HERE

Torlum Coffee Shop

In our “Torlum Coffee Shop” we aim to provide an excellent service with a range of refreshments to suit all tastes. Whether you just need a pick-me-up cuppa, or something more filling, such as a plate of our delicious home-made soup or one of our generously filled sandwiches you will find it here. Half portions available for the wee ones or a lunch box with sandwich, yoghurt, fruit, crisps, juice and a sweet. Where possible we source our fresh produce locally. Find out more on our Cafe page.

If after visiting all the animals and play areas you find you still have lots of energy left then why not take the track past the otters, red deer, ponds and fallow deer to the top of the hill where the viewpoint offers some spectacular scenery over Comrie and the Southern Highlands. For those really in a mind for a good walk there is also the Torlum 8 mile walk through the Perthshire Hills.

Well behaved dogs are welcomed in the centre on leads at all times. The only part of the centre that they are not allowed is inside the café and our lemurs, wildcats and otters can be stressed by dogs so we ask that you keep them well away from them, signs are posted around these animals.

Outdoor play!

We have several outdoor play areas at Auchingarrich! There are bats and balls so that you can enjoy a spot of Badminton or football. We also have balance logs, climbing frames and a small climbing wall for all your adventurers!

Wild West!

Our Wild West area is at the heart of Auchingarrich, here you can find plenty of animals to say hello to and take pictures in our jail house!

Play Park!

We have a large play area just down from our cafe with a flying fox, giant net swing, seesaw sandpit and climbing frames. We also have Rabbit warren tunnels which are an old favourite with all the family!
