The name Ass comes from the Latin name for Donkey. They are very friendly and hate to be alone. Donkeys can live for over 50 years.

Donkeys have an incredible memory – they can recognise areas and other donkeys they were with up to 25 years ago.

They make a sound called ‘Braying’.
